How To Program Equation Solvers on All Ti Graphing Calculators

Tired of punching in all 5 or 6 steps to a complicated problem?The only thing left to do is program the calculator and put the variables in.Do you think typing in every single part of an equation is boring?

Step 1: The calculator needs to be turned on.

Step 2: You can press the button.

Step 3: The "create new" option is available if you press the right arrow twice.

Step 4: For the entire example, some geometric volume formulas will be used as examples.

Press Enter.

Step 5: A menu should come up if you press "PRGM" again.

There will be "Disp" if you press the right arrow once and under option #3.This means display.It should return to the main menu.

Step 6: To get a quotation mark, press "ALPHA" and "+" together.

To lock typing mode, type "Volume" by pressing "2ND" and "ALPHA".After that, put another quotation mark.Hit enter.The screen should look like this.

Step 7: Follow the directions that are two steps higher than the current step.

If you want to type "1 CYLINDER", put another quotation mark on it.Only with ":Disp "1 CYLINDER" below that should it be the same as the example above.

Step 8: Let's take a look at the equation.

If more formulas are needed, just put the objects name in front of the numbers and put them in order.Press enter.You can bring up another menu by pressing the "PRGM" key.Select it if you scroll down.It should be Lbl.The line should look like this if you type in K after that.Press enter.

Step 9: To get to the I/O menu, press the "PRGM" key again and again.

If you scroll down, select #1 which should be "input".After the space between "Input" and "W", put " W".Press enter.

Step 10: Go back to using the "PRGM" key if you're not told otherwise.

If you hit enter, it will select "If".After "If", type "W=1" to get it."Then" can be found in the menu section of the "PRGM" key.Again, press Enter.

Step 11: You can find the "I/0" section by selecting it.

Press enter.Put "Radius" in it.Press Enter.To make it look like "Input R", type "R" after it.Press enter.In "Height", type "Disp"Press Enter.If you type "H" again, it will look like this: "Input H".Press Enter again.

Step 12: Put in the formula "Pi symbol*R" square to A.

Step 13: Press enter if you want to type in "Disp A".

"End" can be found in the "PRGM" button menu and it's number 7 on the first section.To exit, press "2ND" and "MODE" right next to it.

Step 14: You can get a list of programs by pressing "PRGM" again.

There should be a name for the program.Press enter if you want to highlight it.The first calculator screen should say "prgmEXAMPLE", which is the name of the program.If you want to watch the program unfold, press enter again.

Step 15: You can type in 1 by the "?

At the bottom of the screen, there will be a menu that asks for the radius, put it in, and it will give you the answer.The program is done!
