Can anyone help?I can't tell where the high pitched sound is coming from because our home theatre system is in our lounge. There is a TV, a receiver, speakers, and a modem. There are a couple of boxes behind the system.I thought it was our fire detectors, but I took out the batteries, and I could still hear it for about 15 minutes.I unplugged the power for the TV and waited 15 minutes.I still could hear the sound of the device being unplugged.I unplugged the box and still could hear it.The receiver was unplugged and I still heard the annoying beep.Any ideas? Thanks to John in Australia.

Fire or house alarms are the only things I've heard of making a high pitched beep at.If your fire alarm has a dead battery, it will go to its backup power and make a noise. It can drive you nuts if the sound echoes well and the pitch is close to the ceiling.
