A cup of tea from Pakistan.

Pakistan's mix tea is one of the most popular beverages in the entire country.While mix tea is the most popular of all Pakistani teas, Doodh Pati Chai, Kashmiri Chai and Masala Chai are equally good and can be enjoyed at any time of the day or night.Whether you're celebrating a wedding or just trying to wake up in the morning, these teas will provide you with both clarity and caffeination.

Step 1: Put your ingredients together.

You will need 1.5 cups of water, 1/2 cup full fat milk, 34 cup loose black tea, and 1.5 ounces of sugar.If you prefer your tea to be sweeter, increase the amount of sugar you use per cup.You can double and triple the recipe to make a larger group of tea.The tea used in this recipe is a very popular tea from Pakistan.You can cut up existing tea bags if you don't have loose leaf tea.

Step 2: Bring your tea to the boil.

Take 1.5 cups of water and put it in a saucepan.Add your tea when the water is bubbling.If you want your tea to turn a shade of dark orange, cover your saucepan and allow it to cook for one minute on low heat.Add your milk to the pot if your tea has changed colors.Allow your tea to brew for a few minutes over low heat.

Step 3: Allow your tea to be served.

You can strain out the extra tea particles by pouring your tea mixture over a strainer.Enjoy your tea in a teacup or teapot.Adding a pinch of cinnamon and cardamom to your tea will increase its flavor.The spices can be added directly to the cup of tea.If your tea is sweet enough, you can add 1.5 ounces of sugar or leave it out.

Step 4: You should gather your ingredients.

You will need 34 cup water, 2-4 smashed cardamom Pods, 1-2 thin slices of fresh ginger, a 1-inch cinnamon stick, 1 piece star anise, and 1.5 ounces of loose black tea leaves.The preferred sugars for this recipe are honey and maple syrup.One 8 ounce serving of tea can be made from this recipe.Star anise can be purchased at Chinese grocery stores or omitted entirely.If you want to destroy your cardamom Pods, grind them between a mortar and pestle.

Step 5: Before serving, make the tea.

In a small saucepan, add your water, cardamom, ginger, cinnamon stick, and star anise.Allow the mixture to boil, then lower the heat and allow it to cook until it has a strong scent.For another minute, add your milk and tea.Allow the tea to steep for two minutes after the mixture has cooled.Before you serve your tea, make sure you strain it.Make your tea taste better.

Step 6: The night before you should prepare your tea.

Before you go to bed, combine the water, cardamom, cinnamon stick and star anise.Put your mixture in a saucepan and allow it to sit overnight.Bring your ginger mixture to a boil in the morning.When the mixture starts to smell good, lower the heat.The rest of your ingredients should be added.Allow the mixture to cook for another minute, then steep it for an additional two minutes.Put your drink in a container and serve it.

Step 11: Put your tea and water in the saucepan.

The tea should be boiled on medium heat.Put your mixture in a container and whisk it for 10 seconds.The tea mixture will turn bright red when you add your other cup of water with it.A fork or wooden spoon will suffice if you don't have a whisk.

Step 12: Add some milk.

Add your milk when you turn your heat down.The tea will have a slight froth.Put your mixture into a cup.Sprinkle your tea with your almonds and pistachios.Your tea should be a dark pink color once you add milk.Your tea will taste better if you add more milk.
