A signature can be preserved on an item of clothing.
Did you have your favourite celebrity sign your shirt?Are you going to keep the memories of your graduating class in ink?You might be concerned with keeping that signature clean.Helping the ink to set will make it last longer.The clothing needs to be properly displayed to protect the signature.
Step 1: Allow the ink to dry.
Touching the ink before it is dried can smudge the signature.Carefully removing the signed piece of clothing will allow the ink to dry.The clothing will not be disturbed until it is dried.If it doesn't shine in the light, it's probably dry.
Step 2: You can put your article of clothing on the ironing board.
Make sure the signature is pointing towards you.If you have the signature on the ironing board, you don't have to worry about all of the clothing fitting.You will not be able to do this with all fabrics.It is not possible to iron leather.It's a good idea to store such clothing to preserve signatures.
Step 3: The cotton setting can be used to iron clothing.
Press the iron onto the signature after it warms up.The iron might smudge the ink if you slide it as usual.You might burn the garment if you press the iron too long.Make sure there is no steam coming from the iron.Water will help remove the signature from the ink.
Step 4: The clothes should be put in the dryer.
Don't put your signed garment in with other clothing.Leave the clothing in the dryer for 30 minutes when you use the hottest setting.If you choose to wash the clothing, the ink should have been completely set after you removed it.Not all clothing can be put in the dryer.If you want to preserve the signatures, you should store them rather than wear them.
Step 5: The clothing can't be washed in cold water.
If you don't help it set, hot water can cause the ink to fade, so you should only wash it in cold water.
Step 6: Resolene can be applied to leather.
It is not possible to iron leather or put it in the dryer to protect the ink.All you have to do is add a small amount of the product to a soft sponge.The ink will be protected by the clear coating.
Step 7: If fabrics can't be put in the dryer, air dry them.
You won't be able to use the dryer after washing or setting the ink if you're dealing with leather, suede or chiffon.To keep the clothing out of the sun, hang it up after washing.
Step 8: Keep your clothes away from the sun.
The ink and fabric on your signed clothing are likely to fade with time.Turn off the lights when you leave the room and keep it away from windows.You can buy cases that hold jerseys or clothing.The amount of light entering the case is controlled by these.
Step 9: Proper air flow is required.
The fabric is not likely to last very long if you don't have a chance to breathe.Make sure the clothing is not against the glass when you put it in the display case.Don't let the same musty air sit in the room if it's up on a wall without a case.If you store your signed clothes in a drawer, they won't last as long.The signature could rub off on other clothes in the same drawer.
Step 10: It's a good idea to avoid excessive humidity.
The signature will be affected by too much humidity.Don't display your clothing in the basement or garage as they tend to be more humid.A temperature controlled room is best for keeping signatures vivid.
