A simple cat bed can be made.

A happy cat has a warm place to hide and dream. The ideal place to sleep for a cat is between 12 and 16 hours a day.In less than 15 minutes you can make a bed for your cat that is tailored to their needs and personality.Building a cardboard box den, sewing a sweater bed, or making a t-shirt tent are all ways to make your cat a safe, comfortable bed. Step 1: Pick the right box for your cat. It will help your cat stay warm by providing great insulation from the cold, as well as a safe space to retreat and relax in, because cats feel cold more than humans. There are a variety of designs for cardboard boxes. You can choose which one suits your home décor. You can use a cardboard box from the store. For a rainy day with your kids, this can be a fun project to do when your cat is sleepy.Make their bed a cat-friendly zone by learning how to keep your cat safe as well as cozy. Step 2: There is a door-hole in the front of the box. Use a craft knife or scissors to cut the hole. For an older, slower cat it makes sense to start the door-hole at ground level, but a younger cat or kitten who loves to jump will love a circular door hole halfway up the front of the box.Make sure the door-hole is big enough for your cat to climb in and out of.If your cat likes to squeeze into things, keep the hole small.Supersize the door if your cat is sensitive to tight spaces.Add a window or two if your cat likes light or has an open space. Step 3: The bed should be tailored to your cat's needs. Do you think your cat likes a quiet dark place?Do they like to look around and see what's going on?Would they prefer the inside of the box to be dark or sunny? You can ask these questions to design a bed for your cat.If your cat likes to look around, it would be a good idea to remove the top of the box and door-hole.If your cat likes privacy, it's a good idea to tape a piece of fabric over the door-hole as a curtain. You could use the same fabric to make a bed. There is a snack tube. There is a hole in the top of the box.It is a good idea to put a paper toilet roll tube in it as a snack drop. Step 4: The bed should have a soft base. This can make a big difference in how quickly your cat can adapt.Their whiskers and paw pads make them love snuggling.Think about your cat's favourite texture - a pillow, a rug, some fur fabric or even vintage curtains. An old t-shirt or sweater is a good smell.Adding a toy or a small amount of cat nip will appeal to their sense of smell. Step 5: The more intrepid cat will find the perfect hideout. You can use this method to get to a colourful hideaway that your cat will love.Using items from around the house you can whip this stylish divan up with just a t-shirt, wire hangers, old fabric scraps and a safety pin.Your cat already likes the feel of one of your old t-shirts.The choice is yours, you could pick one to match your home décor, bright or black, patterned or plain. You can change it up as you please. Step 6: The frame should be made. The tent shape will sit over your cat if you shape the hangers into an arch. The arch you make for your cat should be high enough to make them comfortable inside. If your cat is small, you can cut off the ends of the hangers to make a smaller arch.Cross the hangers into an X shape. The tent frame is yours. The frame is solid. To secure it, wind tape through the X.bend the ends of the hangers to create small feet at the bottom of each arcs. This will make it strong.Wrap tape around your cat's paws to protect them from sharp objects. Step 7: The t-shirt needs to be pulled over the frame. The tent cover will be made by this. The frame needs to be covered with some fabric if the t-shirt is large enough. You will be able to pull the t-shirt tightly over the frame to make a snug home. You can put a wooden or cardboard base inside the t-shirt, but make sure it doesn't hurt your cat.Keep the t-shirt neck at the front and center by putting it over the tent frame. This is the door.Pull the t-shirt tightly over the frame at the back and use a safety pin to make it easy to remove for washing. Step 8: The tent should be over the base. The tent can be sat over a cushion or soft base. The point is to make sure your cat is safe and comfortable. It is possible to use a pillow, cushion, towel, some felt or even vintage curtains as your cat's favourite texture. An old t-shirt or sweater is a good smell.Adding a toy or cat nip will make it even more desirable. Step 9: You can choose an old sweater. You can make a bed in less than 30 minutes. If your cat likes to bask in the sun and watch life go on around them, then this is the bed for them.An old sweater or fleece jumper will appeal to your cat.The long sleeves will make the basket shape. Step 10: The side of the sweater has a seamed edge. You can choose to use contrasting yarn or the same color so it is invisible, you just need yarn and a tapestry needle. When you have sewed halfway down the sleeve, stop. This step should be repeated for the other arm. Step 11: The sweater should be folded over. Roll the sweater up with the sleeves in front of it.The sleeve cuffs should be slightly overlap. An outer ring will be made to your bed. There is a rolled up sweater edge.If the cuffs overlap in front, put one cuff inside the other and stitch down the edge of the top layer. You have created a tube. Step 12: A running stitch can be made from one armpit to the other. The stitching can be different depending on how you chose to style your bed.As you sew across the running stitch to make a half moon shape, make it arch a little. You need to sew through both layers of sweater fabric. The rounder the bed will be if your shape is arched. Step 13: Take the edge of the sweater and make a ring out of it. This is how you can make a squishy border to your bed that is safe for your cat to jump in and out of.To make it nice and full, use old rags, stuffing or strips of old clothes.Stitch the neck opening closed with a little help from the bottom of the bed.
