A weave is Dye a Weave.

If you want to experiment with hair color without damaging your hair, dyeing your weave is a good way to do it.If you want to dye your extensions darker, bleach them blonde, or try a bright color like red or blue, make sure to use clean, virgin hair.Put on latex gloves and open a window to begin dyeing.Your new hair color will look great. Step 1: The best dye results come from bundles of virgin hair. Synthetic hair doesn't react well to hair dye chemicals so make sure to invest in real hair that has not been dyed or treated.Quality human hair extensions come in a natural brown (1B) color, so dyeing it is the perfect way to personalize your hair.Natural hair can be more expensive, but it will look more natural, last longer, and be easier to style. Step 2: You can wash your hair with a product. Make sure your extensions are free of product build up.After washing them, use a towel to dry off the excess water. The hair should be damp before you dye it.The opening of the hair cuticle will speed up the dyeing process. If the hair is new, you don't need to wash it.It's best to spray it with clean water. Step 3: Take a look at where you want the dye to start. If you want to leave a section of roots, measure out 1.5 to 2.5 inches of hair at the top of the extensions. To keep the line consistent, use a ruler as a reference.Measure out where you want the hair to start getting lighter for an ombre effect. Step 4: Before choosing a dye color, consider the color of your weave. Do you need to bleach hair first or multiple times in order to get the color you want?If you want to dye your weave bright colors like blue or pink, you need to bleach it first. It will help the colors show up.You don't need a pre-bleaching step if you want to dye your hair darker. Step 5: Before dyeing, open a window and put on latex gloves. The products used to dye and bleach hair can be very harsh, so make sure to take precautions before you start. You can protect your hands from being dyed or bleached with a pair of latex or rubber gloves. The strong fumes can be mitigated by opening some windows in the room.If the room you are in doesn't have proper air flow, you should wear a mask over your mouth and nose.If the products get on the old clothes you don't care about, you should wear them. Step 6: The extensions should be put on a sheet of foil. The hair is not bunched up if the strands are spread out slightly.Spread the hair out to make it easier to dye if your wefts are packed in spirals. You can leave some foil on the sides of the sheet to wrap around the hair later.Hairdresser foil can be found at a beauty supply store. Step 7: The box instructions say to mix the hair color and developer. To stir the 2 ingredients, use the bowl and brush.Measure out the dye and developer using the directions on the back of the box. Step 8: The brush can be used to saturate the hair. Start at the top and work your way down.To fully saturate the hair, apply the mixture liberally. The brush should be moved up and down to coat each strand. Step 9: Allow the hair to develop by covering it with plastic wrap. The plastic wrap helps keep the dye from drying out.Dark dye takes 25 minutes to develop, but you should follow the instructions on the back of the box. While the color is being applied, make sure to check on the hair every 5 minutes or so. Step 10: Warm water will wash away the hair dye. The extensions should be washed in a sink or bathtub. You can massage the hair with your fingers.Take the water out of the hair and keep it clean. Step 11: To air-dry, lay the weave on an old towel. The hair may still have excess color, so make sure to use an old towel.Leave the strands lightly damp by squeezing out the excess water. To fully air-dry the extensions, lay them out.The hair is ready to be worn once it is completely dry. Step 12: The bleach powder and developer should be put in a bowl. Measure out each ingredient using the plastic scoop that comes with the bleach powder. The bleach and cream developer should be mixed in a plastic bowl with a brush. The bleach will be activated by the cream developer.Keep a 1:1 ratio of bleach powder and developer if you want to dye a lot of hair. The strength of the cream developer is determined by the directions on the bleach powder.20V or 30V strength will bleach your hair quickly without being too harsh. If you need to speed up the process, you can use a 40V cream developer.Because 40V is much harsher, be careful with this strength. Step 13: The bleach mixture should be applied to your hair with a brush. Attach the brush to the extensions with the bleach mixture.Hold down the top of the extension with one hand and apply bleach with the other. To coat each strand, move the brush up, down, and side to side. Step 14: Wrap the hair in foil and let it sit for 15 minutes. If you need to cover the top with a second sheet, fold in the sides of the foil. The bleach will be allowed to soak as thoroughly as possible.Every 5 minutes, check the progress of the hair color. Step 15: You can wash out the bleach and towel-dry your extensions. If you want to wash your hair out, you can take it out of the foil and use the warm water.Make sure to rub and rinse the hair with your fingers. It's a good idea to towel-dry the hair. The hair will look a little brassy at this point. You are done with bleaching if that is the look you are going for.Allow the hair to air-dry before you wear it. Step 16: If you want a lighter shade, rinse and repeat the process for 40 minutes. Don't worry if the first round of bleach leaves your hair brassier than you want. The same process can be used to bleach the hair.Let the hair soak in the bleach mixture for up to 40 minutes and check the color every 5 minutes. The bleach should be washed out after the hair reaches a certain color.Lay the extensions out to air-dry before you wear them. Step 17: You should bleach the hair before applying a dye. To bleach the section you will be dyeing, use bleach powder and creme developer. If you bleach first, the color will show up in darker hair, creating a blank canvas. After rinsing out the bleach, you're ready to apply the color dye. Step 18: The box has instructions on how to mix the dye and developer. Put the color dye and cream developer into a plastic mixing bowl and mix them together with a clean brush.Measure out each product using the instructions on the box. Step 19: The color dye should be applied 1 inch above the bleached section. Start brushing the dye onto the hair with your brush.Blending the natural hair color and the bleached hair will be created by applying the color a little higher than before.Every strand of hair is coated with the dye. Step 20: Allow the hair to be covered with plastic wrap for 30 minutes. The plastic wrap will keep the dye from drying out.Every 5 minutes, check on the progress of the dye.Once the hair reaches the color intensity that you want, it is time to rinse out your extensions and take off the plastic wrap. Step 21: Wait for the water to run clear before washing out the dye. It will help seal the color. You can rinse out the dye and hair products with water.Run the water over the extensions.Don't use a hydrating shampoo or conditioner during this step because it will make it harder for the dye to absorb into the hair. Step 22: You can treat your hair with a deep conditioning treatment. After using harsh chemicals to bleach and dye your hair, it is important to replenish it.Put a deep conditioning treatment through the damp hair and put it on a new sheet of foil to soak. Step 23: The hair needs to be towel-dried. Run cool or warm water through the extensions to remove the deep conditioning product. To get rid of the product, brush your fingers through the hair.If you want to air-dry your hair before you wear it, lay it out on a towel and towel dry it.
