The area around the tape line should be clean.When sanding the paint, there will be dirt on it.

Clean water has a piece of 1,200-grit sandpaper in it.The automotive paint sanding pad has the sandpaper on it.Sand the area with tape.Sand is used in one direction.Don't sand in circles.If the paper is wet, spray the area with water from a spray bottle.As the tape line disappears, use 1,500-grit sandpaper.To feel the raised area of the tape line, use your fingers.Once the line is gone, do a final sanding.

Put a small amount of polishing compound on a clean shop rag and apply it to the sanded area.To lightly buff the sanded area, turn the automotive buffer on its lowest setting.If you want to remove sanding marks, use a circular motion.

The polished area should be wiped down with a clean, dry shop rag.The polishing compound will be removed from the paint.
