The small hinge screws are prone to breaking and it is best to use a hand screwdriver for better control.If you use a drill or driver, be sure to set the clutch very low so that you don't risk breaking the screws.Brass screws are softer and easier to strip than steel decorative or drywall screws, which is why door hinges are hung with brass screws.

It's important to have a drill or driver that has a low-torque option.You can drive screws in hard with low-torque.Most drills have clutches, but not all.

If you break a screw head or strip it, you can use an inexpensive device to remove it.
