Can someone living in Ottawa live without a car when that person does not live in downtown

Yes, and of course, many do.Parking downtown is expensive, and traffic is slow. Many commute by bus, or O-train, and the city has a new LRT that is due to start running by month’s end.

I have a car that just sits in my driveway, I have only started it twice during the last six months, decided recently I am going to sell it.So, yes.Absolutely possible.

If I need to get somewhere in a hurry, Uber, is an option. Also a virtu-car system in busier parts of the city.I use the busses as well.

Sure! Our transit and subways are really good.

Lots of people do.

There is an extensive public transit system including light rail and buses and Uber is increasingly popular

1,000′s do!For commuting, the bus system is reasonable, but a little costly, imo.If they ever get the LRT running, it’s at least 2 years late, and no sign of it being ready to go, that should eventually improve the system significantly.

However, service in the ‘burbs is atrocious out side of the standard business day, and weekends. You can get to the suburbs, but you can’t get around in the suburbs very well.
