Making your own cat food is a great way to control what your cat eats.It is easier for your cat to digest homemade food.You can store dry kibble in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.You can give your cat something new by giving it wet, meat-based food several times a week.It doesn't take long to make cat food and your cat will love it. Step 1: Put your oven in. If you use cooking oil or butter to grease the sheet, it will add fat to your cat's diet.You can cut out a piece of paper to fit the pan.Once the dough is done, put the sheet to the side.If you are using small baking sheets that are 18 by 13 inches (46 by 33 cm) or smaller, prepare 2 of them to make sure there is enough room for all the kibble to bake.You might have to cook it in batches. Step 5: The dough should include the fish and oil mixture. The mackerel and oil should be poured over the top of the dough once the water and dry ingredients have mostly been combined.If you can't mix it with a spoon, switch to mixing it by hand.You may be tempted to add more water, but remember that the dough needs to be a bit rough in order to bake in the oven. Step 6: Cut the dough into squares of 4 inch (0.64 cm) size. Put the dough between 2 sheets of paper and use a rolling pin to roll it out so it is about 4 inch (0.64 cm) thick.Remove the top piece of paper and use a knife to cut the dough into small squares.The squares should not be too big.Your cat can eat them if they are small. Step 7: The kibble should be baked for 20 to 25 minutes. When you put your cut kibble into the oven, it should be at a temperature of 350 F.It should take 20 to 25 minutes for the food to cook.If you can, try to toss it around every 5 to 10 minutes.It's a good idea to be careful when taking things out of the oven.Use an oven mitt to protect your hands. Step 8: The kibble can be kept in an air-tight container for up to 3 weeks. The kibble should cool on the tray for 10 to 15 minutes after baking.Go ahead and transfer it once it has cooled down.Give your kitty 1/2 cup (75 grams) twice a day, or more or less depending on its needs, if you keep the kibble in the fridge.Chicken gravy can be added to your cat's food if it prefers wet food. Step 10: There is a game called steam. If you prefer, you can use a steaming basket on the stove.If you don't steam the vegetables, your cat will pick them up and get at the meat.Your cat will get a lot of vitamins from broccoli and carrots.They are good for the heart, colon, bones, and eyes.The vegetables should not be season with salt or pepper.Adding fish oil to your cat's diet would add some extra flavor and provide it with Omega 6 fatty acids. Step 11: In a food processor, blend the vegetables and chicken. Just as long as the meat and vegetables break down and combine together, you can use a food processor or grinder for this step.It is possible to blend the food while it is hot or wait until it has cooled down.Chicken is a great source of nutrition for your cat.On a day-to-day basis, it helps their muscles stay strong and gives them the energy they need to function.The best way to make your cat's food is with a clean food processor. Step 12: Chicken soup can be added to give the food a smooth consistency. There should be some water coming from the vegetables, so you shouldn't need more than 3 to 4 cups of chicken soup.If you add enough, the food won't turn into a liquid.You could use chicken gravy to give the food a more robust flavor. Step 13: After the food has cooled down. Giving your cat hot food could upset it.Cats typically eat 300 calories per day, so if you want your cat to eat all of the chicken and vegetables, check with your vet to make sure you don't over feed your feline friend.It is possible to feed your cat this type of food on a daily basis, but you can mix it with other recipes or dry food several times a week to give it a variety in its diet.Food can be kept in the fridge for up to 3 days.If food is left out for more than a few hours, get rid of it.
