Chrysler 200 Questions - Key Fob not detected
The battery in the Chrysler 200 was replaced.The Panic alarm can't start the vehicle because the doors are locked and unlocked.There is a message inside the car.

I know this may sound crazy, but if you have your foot on the break you should be able to push the start button.Its caused by electrical interference.

It ended up being that I needed a new key fob because I had a problem where the key was not detected but it unlocked and locked doors when you pressed the button.I bought one and took it to the dealer for programming.It works as it should now.
Had the same thing happen to me.It took 45 minutes to get the car started.It was taken to the dealership.When the module is bad, you have to replace it and I was told it had a bad module.The module only speaks to the key that was programmed to it.Replacing the module means cutting 2 keys and programming 2 new ones.This cost me $890 when all was said and done.The Chrysler 200 is a limited edition.The dealership told me to use the other key to get it going again if I run into that problem again, after I got the 2 new keys.The only car that doesn't seem to come factory installed with a failsafe when this happens is this one.Some cars have the ability to use the hard key in or the actual key as a key.Poor design on Chrysler's part and a costly repair on a car that I had owned less than 2 weeks before this problem occurred.
