Count in Spanish

Learning to count is one of the first things you learn when learning a new language. If you want to get around in a Spanish speaking area, you need numbers. Most of the time, counting in Spanish is pretty simple. You should be able to pronounce fairly large numbers correctly once you've learned a few basic numbers. Step 1: For "zero," use the word cero. You don't usually start with zero when you count to 10.The Spanish word for zero sounds similar to the English word, so it should be easy to remember. In English, the number cero stands alone and does not form the base of any other numbers. It's still important to know.If you were reading out a phone number or credit card number in Spanish, it could come in handy. Step 2: Count from one to five. It should be relatively easy to count to 5 in Spanish if you know the first few numbers. The basis for constructing the words for larger numbers can be found in these words. One is uno.Dos are two (2).There are three (3).Cuatro is four. The number five is cinco. Step 3: There are words for the numbers 6 through 10. Add the numbers from 6 to 10 to your vocabulary once you can count from 1 to 5 easily. They roll off your tongue as easily as 1 to 5.The number six is seis and the number seven is Siete. The number eight is Och-oh.Nine (9) is nueve.Ten is diez. Step 4: Pick out the words for the numbers 11 through 15. The numbers from 11 to 15 have their own unique words in Spanish.Once you know how to count to 10, they're a little easier to learn. The number eleven is once.Doce is twelve (12).The number 13 is trece.Fourteen is catorce. It is fifteen fifteen. Step 5: The formula for forming numbers with 16 through 19 should be started. There are 16 dieciséis (DEE-ay-see-SAYS).The accent mark indicates to place emphasis on the last syllable.Seventeen is diecisiete.Eighteen is dieciocho.Nineteen is also known as diecinueve. Step 6: To make other numbers, count by tens. All words for numbers in the tens spot are constructed by adding the suffix -ta to a form of the work for the multipliers digit.Twenty five is veinte.Thirty two is treinta.Forty (40) is the number of people.Fifty (50) is called cincuenta.Sixty (60) is the number.70 is setenta. It is 80.Ninety is noventa. The Spanish v sounds similar to the English b. Step 7: Put viente with the number in the place where the words should be. To form other numbers through 99 in Spanish, you use the word y to connect the number in one place with the one in the tens place. For the numbers from 21 to 29 you combine the two words into one word.Twenty-one is veintiuno.Twenty-two is veintids.Twenty-three is veintitrés.Twenty-four is veinticuatro.Twenty-five is veinticinco. There are 26 veintiséis.Twenty-seven is veintisiete.Twenty-eight is veintiocho.Twenty-nine is veintinueve. Step 8: The rest of the numbers can be formed with the word y. In Spanish, y means "and."You can say every number from 1 to 99 in Spanish if you know how to count to 10 and by tens. The name of the tens place number is followed by the digit in the ones place.Thirty-one is treinta y uno.75 is setenta y cinco.Ninety-seven is noventa. You can practice by making your own combinations. You could write down a bunch of numbers and then read them in Spanish. Step 9: For the number 100, use cien. Cien is the base for all other numbers. When referring to the number 100, you'll only usecien. The suffix -tos should be added to the end of the root when combining it with other numbers. The word for the multiplier digit is combined with cientos. When there are other numbers present, one hundred (100) is ciento. The number 103 would be read as ciento tres. There are two hundred (200) doscientos. There are 300 trescientos (TRAYS-see-EHN-tohs).Four hundred is the number of Cuatrocientos. There are 500 quinientos (KEEN-ee-EHN-tohs).This form is somewhat irregular. The irregularity avoids confusion.600 is the number of seiscientos.Seven hundred is setecientos. This form is slightly irregular. The number is eight hundred (800).There are 900 novecientos (NOH-veh-SEE-ehn-tohs).This form is slightly irregular. Step 10: The numbers in the tens and ones places should be used to form the words for the numbers. You can combine the words for hundreds, tens, and ones now that you know them.Don't use an y between the numbers in the tens and hundreds places.Doscientos is a type of research. It is a sentient y dos.Write down a random list of numbers and say them in Spanish. Step 11: The word mil should be used to say the numbers from 1000 to 9999. Use mil alone for one thousand. The word mil should be used for the remaining thousands. Two thousand would be dos mil.Words for numbers in the thousands are the same as words for tens and hundreds. If you want to go into tens of thousands, use the word mil followed by it.The number would be 800,000. Step 12: Follow the formula for millions and billions. In Spanish, one million is un milln. One thousand million is the number of mil millones in Spanish. The long scale system is used by the Spanish. When naming large numbers, the system alternates between a scale word and its thousand. The Spanish word un billn is similar to the English word billion. The word refers to a million millions.
