Step 8: Individual slices should be cut from the horizontal scores. Use your horizontal scores to cut individual cake slices after making your first vertical cut.Working from the outer edge of your cake, press your knife down at a 45 degree angle until the tip hits the board.Pull your knife towards you until it comes out of the cake. Step 9: You can serve the cake. Pull the slice away from the rest of the cake by putting the flat of your blade under it.Go ahead and serve your slice on the plate.If your slice is stubborn, use a fork to move the cake onto the plate. Step 10: Use floss that doesn't have flavor. Your cake slices could be affected by the flavor of floss.There is an unflavored variety of dental floss.Fishing wire works well if you don't have floss. Step 11: Floss is about 10 cm longer than your cake. You want your floss to be a little bit longer than your cake so that you have enough to wrap it around your fingers.floss is about 10 cm longer than your cake.The floss will be wrapped around your fingers on either side. Step 12: The floss should be wrapped around your fingers. Wrap the floss around your fingers.Pull the floss straight after twisting it over each finger. Step 13: The floss should be spread evenly over your cake. Line your floss up with your first scoring line and press it down until it reaches the board.You need to unwrap floss from one finger.Pull the finger away from the cake until the floss is free.For each of your scoring lines, repeat this process. Step 14: Floss can be changed between cuts. Change the length of floss between the scoring lines.This keeps your cake clean.
