Ammonia is often used for cleaning.It is not considered a household hazardous waste.If you have plenty of water, you can dispose of it in the sink.If you have a lot of ammonia, it is possible to throw it away.You need to recycle or throw out the container after you dispose of the ammonia.
Step 1: It's time to turn on a water faucet.

Step 6: The ammonia should be covered with the dry mix.
Continue to add dry mixture to ammonia until you have enough dry mix to absorb all of the ammonia.You shouldn't have any left.
Step 7: The mixture should be put into a container.
To scoop the mixture into the container, use a plastic or wooden spoon.If you fill up the container and still have more to collect, you can dump it in a trash bag.Pick up the rest of the mixture.Wear a mask while you clean up the mess.It is a good idea to let the air out of the area if it is indoors.If you have a hood, turn it on.
Step 8: The mixture should be thrown in the trash.
It is safe to put ammonia in the trash can.You can either throw out the container or dump it.Don't allow the ammonia to sit in your house.You have to dispose of it immediately.
Step 9: There is excess ammonia in the container.
Even if the container has very little ammonia, don't throw it away.Ammonia can be hazardous even in small amounts.The fumes from ammonia can be harmful.It could be mixed with other substances in the trash.
Step 10: Take the container out.
If ammonia remains in the bottle, use clean water to wash it away.The water will reduce the amount of droplets in the container.You can pour your rinse water down the sink.
Step 11: The bottle should be checked to see if it's recycled.
The majority of plastic cleaner bottles are recycled.You can check the bottom of the container to see if it has a symbol that says you can recycle it.If it is non-recyclable, you can put it in with your other waste.You can take it to the recycling center.
Step 12: If you cannot recycle it, throw it in the trash.
Put it in with the rest of the trash.If you can, throw it out in the trash can.You won't have to worry about accidental emissions.
