The very topmost festivals tend award prizes offered by sponsors, never cash prizes. So you might get camera gear, editing software, or whatever. And only if there is a sponsor giving that prize. And generally only the “Best Picture" short film, if your lucky, in each category (live action, animation, documentary).
What do you get if you win a film festival?
You win a prize, whatever the award was for that festival. Cash, gear, and/or software. You also get an award and the rights to use the fact that you won that award in your marketing. And if this was a major film festival, you might now be eligible for consideration by the Oscars or other national award organizations.
