Abstract. Recently, cyclodextrin (CD) has shown the potential for effective treatment of atherosclerotic plaques in mice by solubilizing plaque cholesterol. While promising as a new therapy for atherosclerosis, poor pharmacokinetics and ototoxicity of CD pose a therapeutic challenge.
