Place the leaf on the can.Before you start hammering, make sure you like the placement and size. Step 7: Be careful not to rip or break the leaf as you tap the first nail. The first nail should be hammered toward the top of the leaf. Step 8: The pattern can be created by hammering the remaining nails around the perimeter of the leaf. If left in a cool, dry area, most spray paints will dry in 3 hours. Step 12: The can should be filled with sand. Depending on the can size, fill it with 12 cup of sand. Step 13: The votive rests on the sand in the middle of the can. Step 14: Light the votive. Turn on the battery operated votive.It will light up the night. Step 15: It was finished.
