The manufacture date code can be found at the top of the battery.The code can only be seen from above the battery.
Look for a code in the corners of the battery.The battery is engraved with the code.The positive battery terminal is labeled with a "+" sign if you can't find a code engraved on one of the corners.
Look at the first digit.The month of manufacture is represented by the letter."C" stands for March and "F" for June.The letter for the month is preceded by a "U" if the code is on the positive battery terminal.
If the code is on the positive battery terminal, look at the second digit.It's a number that represents the year of manufacture, so "4" stands for 2004, and "0" for 2010.The cycle runs for 10 years and then repeats, so 2011 is the same as 2001 and has the number 1 as the second digit.The Interstate battery is manufactured in the last two or three digits.
