How do you sterilize horse manure?
- Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
- Form a ball of moist but not overly saturated manure and place it in the middle of a shallow baking dish or cookie sheet.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and place a meat thermometer through the foil and into the manure.
- Check the temperature of the manure often.

Because it's a sterilized substrate, it will probably be fine for 6 months to a year. I'd keep it in a cool dry place. This is a good option and I've been pleased with the product.
Can you reuse spent mushroom substrate?
