Connect your Gateway eero device to your modem using the Ethernet cable that came in the box. You can use either of the Ethernet ports on the back of your eero. Plug your Gateway eero device in to an available power outlet, then reconnect your modem to power. Your eero device's status light will start flashing white.
Can eero connect to a switch?
Yes. If you would like to hardwire additional devices to your eero network, you can connect a wired switch to one of the Ethernet ports on any eero. Once you've connected a switch, the eero port will configure itself automatically. Note: Always plug the switch into your eero and not directly into your modem.

Is eero a powerline?
The eero Beacon is used to extend wireless connectivity to a home's mesh network. The Beacon acts more like a wireless router (which in can help you utilize your IS full bandwidth) and does not use powerline adapters which uses the copper lines in your home to transmit signals.
Can an eero be used as an extender?
The Eero 6 Extender simply has Wi-Fi connectivity and is only used to expand the coverage of your existing mesh. You cannot use the Eero 6 Extender alone or as the base of your Eero mesh. If you're just looking to add more capacity to your mesh, the Extender is a great option.
Is powerline better than Wi-Fi adapter?
The best Powerline adapters are a much better bet than Wi-Fi extenders or repeaters that merely push a weak signal further around a house. The longer the distance from your internet router and the more obstacles (walls, other devices), the weaker the Wi-Fi reception.Jan 1, 2022
Does eero have wired connection?

Why does eero only have two Ethernet ports?
Each eero has two Ethernet ports. One of the Ethernet ports is used to connect your gateway eero to the Internet via your modem. The other Ethernet port can be used to hardwire another device (such as a Sonos player) directly to your network.
Does eero work with Ethernet?
Yes. eeros can be connected together via Ethernet backhaul or they can connect wirelessly. When connecting your eeros via Ethernet, you can either connect all your eeros to your gateway (likely via an Ethernet Switch), or you connect each eero to one another.
Can I power an eero with Poe?
eero's hardware, itself, does not support power over Ethernet (PoE). To provide power to your eeros, you should use the supplied power adapter.
