There is no proven way to stretch skates on your own, so the only option you have is to bring your skates to skate shop to make sure you keep the integrity of your skates. Skate shops have boot stretching machines that can lengthen and widen your skates. There is also shoe-stretching liquid you can buy.
How much can you stretch a skate?
If your skates are feeling a little to small and it's too close to a test or competition how about a Skate Stretch. We will be able to get about 1/2 size in length on most boots and then one or 2 widths wider also. Please allow at least 4 hours for a skate stretch overnight is always best.
Can skates be stretched?
Shops usually only stretch a slight amount when customers don't specify. More intense stretching is harder on the materials, but unless the skates are really cheap, the boot won't come apart. The boots need to be heated before stretching, and some shops don't do it (akin to heat molding).
