Calculus is more difficult than Pre-Calculus.Pre-calculus is similar to arithmetic in that it gives you the basics for Calculus.Building blocks are very important in math development.

How important is pre math?Precalculus gives you the building blocks that you will need to learn in higher up courses. If you can't keep up with the lessons in your precalculus class, you may fall behind the rest of the class.

You may be able to do it, but it has downside risk.Having a good working knowledge of the two areas is important to success in Calculus. Some people have been able to skip Pre-Calc and get into Calculus.
