The dealer deals out the whole deck of cards face-down, one card at a time to each player, in a clockwise rotation. It doesn't matter if some players get more cards than others.

Shuffle the deck. Each player is dealt 7 cards. Place the remaining cards facedown to form a DRAW pile. Turn over the top card of the DRAW pile to begin a DISCARD pile.
How many cards do you get in Slam?
Step 1: Choose Your Players The standard deck is 55 cards, most suitable for groups of 2 to 4, with an 84-card variant available for up to 6 players. Note that, after the starting word is laid down, the entire deck is distributed among the players.
