How many points do you need to become platinum at Ulta?
Step 2: Spend enough to get “Platinum Status” so you can earn points faster. When you spend $500 at Ulta in a calendar year, you'll automatically be enrolled in the Platinum Status program.
You can redeem as many as you want as long as you have them. They do have a “rounding” chart so you may still end up paying some out of pocket but there is no limit to how much you can use at one time.

However, it won't ever do the full amount and leave you walking out paying 0.00; but that's due to taxes and the points work in increments, so they can't be split, i.e.: if you have 100 points equalivent to $3.00 in points and your purchase is 1.99 it won't allow you to use them, but you can add another item at 1.99
