How Much Should real sapphire cost?

Sapphires range from $25 per carat to more than $11,000 per carat; the most expensive one ever sold came in at $135,000 per carat. The price of a sapphire is determined based on its quality, which means that a large, low-quality sapphire is much cheaper than a small but very high-quality sapphire.

How can I tell if my sapphire is real?

To identify if the sapphire is real, stay in total darkness and use a flashlight to test it. If the stone is genuine, light of the same color as the sapphire is reflected. If it is a fake sapphire jewel (usually made of glass) you will be able to see other colors in the crystal.
