You can learn how to turn on the radio on your phone.The modem in most phones can receive an FM signal.Many service providers and manufacturers have disabled FM capabilities.Not all phones can receive an FM signal.There is an app called NextRadio that you can use to unlocked the FM receiver on your phone or tablet.A pair of wired headphones is needed to act as an antenna.
Step 1: Go to the Play Store.
The app has an icon of a triangle.
Step 2: You can type nextRadio in the search bar.
The top of the store has a search bar.There is a list of matching apps below the search bar when you type something.
Step 3: NextRadio is free live radio.
The app has an icon that looks like a radio.The NextRadio info page can be seen here.
Step 4: Go to install.
The green button is at the top of the info page.This is how the app is installed.
Step 5: You can open NextRadio.
If you want to open NextRadio, you can either tap the icon in the Play Store or on the home screen.There is a message on your device if it is capable of receiving an radio signal.You can listen to live local radio on your device.
Step 6: Plug in a pair of headphones.
The headphones act as an antenna.You can display the next slide when you have a pair of wired headphones.BlueTooth headphones are not able to act as a radio antenna.
Step 7: I'm ready!
There is a button at the bottom of the screen.NextRadio can find local radio stations.tap if a pop-up asks you to allow NextRadio to access the device's location.
Step 8: You can listen to Local Streams or Local Radio.
The options are at the bottom of the screen.This is a display of local radio stations.
Step 9: There is a radio station.
When you find a radio station you want to listen to, tap it to start playing.The radio station may take a while to load.If you don't want to listen to the radio station through your headphones, there's a button in the upper-right corner.You can listen to the radio on your device.
