How To Add Up Columns in Excel

You can learn how to add two or more columns to an excel document.The SUM command can be used on both Windows and Mac versions of excel.

Step 1: Click on the document to open it.

Click the document you want to modify.It opens in excel when you do that.

Step 2: Determine which of your columns is the longest.

To include all of the cells in the longest column, you need to know which row the column extends from.If you want to add blank cells to your formula, you need to include rows 1 through 20 for each column.

Step 3: Determine the beginning and ending columns.

The beginning column is the column if you add it with the end column.

Step 4: There is a blank cell.

Click on the cell that you want to display the sum of your columns.

Step 5: You can enter the "SUM" command.

You can type into the cell.

Step 6: The cell range can be entered.

In the parentheses, type in the beginning column's top cell number, colon, and letter along with the longest row of the column.You would enter the following if you add columns A, B, and C to row 20.

Step 7: Press enter.

The sum of the columns in your selected cell will be displayed.

The sum of the column will be displayed.

Step 13: You can make the sums of the other columns.

You can proceed if you have the sum of each column below the columns in question.

Step 14: There is an empty cell.

Click the cell you want to display the sum of the columns.

Step 15: The sums of the columns were created by adding together cells.

The "SUM" command can be used to enter each cell's letter and number.If you have the sum of each column in cells, you would type into the empty cell.

Step 16: Press Enter.

The sum of the columns in your cell will be displayed.
