How To Air Dry Thick Hair

Extreme heat from a blow dryer can leave hair dry and brittle. If you have thick hair, you should not let your hair air dry.It takes a change in routine to get thick hair to dry properly.

Step 1: Take care of your hair.

It's a bad idea to wash your hair because it leads to frizz.Don't wash your hair more than a couple times a week.Leave-in conditioners can be applied to the ends of your hair each day, or you can use a regular conditioner when you are in the shower. If you are too intimidated by the thought of cutting out hair products, try a cleansing conditioner that will gently remove oil while still hydrating your hair.

Step 2: Don't wash your roots.

You should only lather up the hair on your head. The ends of your hair don't need the same amount of washing because they are the oldest and driest. If you want to rinse it out, massage it into your roots.

Step 3: You can wash your hair in the shower.

If your hair is still wet, use a wide-toothed comb.If you want to prevent breakage, try combing it while the conditioner is still in your hair.Don't wait until your hair is dry to comb it.If you wait too long, you can cause hair problems.

Step 4: You can squeeze out excess water by using your hands.

Once you are done showering, gather your hair into a ponytail with your hands at the back of your head and squeeze the water down as you go.Excess water can be run off the ends of your hair to prepare for the towel.

Step 5: You can wash your hair with a towel.

Rub your hair lightly with the towel. The rubbing results in hair loss.Wrap the towel around your hair and squeeze it to absorb the water.

Step 6: Run your fingers through your hair.

Run your fingers through your hair at the top of the head. The air can work through the hair.

Step 7: To style your hair, use your fingers.

If you want to create spirals in your hair, try twisting several sections of hair around a finger and holding it for a few seconds. If you want a beach waves look, apply an anti-frizz product to your hair and hold it in your palm.

Step 8: You can braid your hair to make waves.

Depending on your hair's thickness, divide it into 2 parts.Attach each braid with a rubber band.If your braids feel dry, remove them and enjoy your waves. If you have straight hair, this approach may be better for you.If you don't like the way your hair looks while braided, you can use hair clips to keep your braids on top of your head.

Step 9: Go for a microfiber towel or a t-shirt.

You can use microfiber towels and t-shirts on your hair.If you have straight or wavy hair, you should use a microfiber towel because it is more absorbent than traditional towels. If you have curly hair, try using a t-shirt.T-shirts are less absorbent and have more moisture.Long sleeves t-shirts are easier to tie around your head.

Step 10: The brush should be used for a comb.

If you have thick hair, hairbrushes won't add much to it.Use a wide-toothed comb only in the shower or when your hair is already wet.If your hair is curly, don't comb or brush it since it could get out of control.

Step 11: Fight hair problems with anti-frizz products.

If you want silky, shiny hair, apply a hair product that is suitable for your hair type.Straight hair can benefit from a gel-based product or a cream.Blow drying products are activated by the heat of the blow dryer and should not be used. While your hair is wet, apply an anti-breakage serum to the ends.

Step 12: Leave-in conditioner can be applied at least once a week.

If you're concerned about excess oil from your hair, saturate it with leave-in conditioner from root to tip, or just from the middle down.If you don't have a leave-in conditioner, you can use coconut oil to sit in your hair as it dries. This will help restore your hair's health.Too many products can make your hair stiff or greasy.

Step 13: Hair clips can be used to create volume.

If you want to add more volume to your roots, you need to gather a section of hair at a time and lift it up at the root before sliding a clip in.This is done around the crown of your head.Once your hair is dry, remove the clips.
