The American Robin is related to the Eastern Bluebirds.The birds live in the east of the United States.If you want to attract them to your yard, you need to make sure that your property has good places to nest, food, water, and protection from predators.
Step 1: Choose boxes that are high quality.

Step 5: Predators should be kept out.
Keeping dangerous predator out of your boxes is just as important as attracting the bluebirds.If you want your bluebird families to live long lives and come back to the nest again and again, it's best to have a barrier in place.A Noel guard is a mesh barrier that is attached to the front of the box and surrounds the entrance hole.Birds may be deterred by this device, so be sure to wait until the bluebirds have laid eggs to install it.A wobbling baffle is a sleeve that fits around the pole and moves to prevent predators from climbing up.
Step 6: Clean your boxes.
If you want to encourage bluebirds to come back to your boxes, you should clean them every year.After each brood of babies has left the nest, remove the material from the box and clean it out.The parents will be encouraged to have more babies.Carefully inspect the boxes while they are being cleaned.Repairs should be performed as needed.
Step 7: Provide them with a lot of open space.
Areas that are wide open with lots of grass, shrubs and trees are where the biancos prefer to live.If you can, look for a spot on your property that is open to the birds.The optimal habitats for bluebirds are the orchards, meadow, and large lawns.If you live in the center of a city, you may have a harder time attracting birds.
Step 8: There is a bird bath or fountain.
Providing a convenient source of fresh water near the nest may help attract the birds.A standard bird bath may be just fine, but moving water is preferable.Keep the water fresh by changing it frequently.The birdbath should be three inches deep and have sloping sides to keep the birds from slipping.Try not to put your habitat near a pond that attracts tree swallows.bluebirds may stay on your property during the winter if you have a heated birdbath.
Step 9: Provide perches.
Birds like to perch high to look for insects.Make sure your yard has lots of different places to perch to make it a convenient place to nest.If there is no place for bluebirds to perch in your yard, you should consider installing perches.The bird can perch on the horizontal piece near the top of the lawn.If you already have a lot of existing perches, you don't need to install anything new.You should have a perch in front of the box.
Step 10: Cats should be kept inside.
Cats can kill birds in your yard.If you have cats, keep them indoors in order to keep the space safe.If you don't want your cat to climb on your bird feeders, mount them on a post that's at least 4–5 ft (1.2– 1.5 m) high.If you keep your cat indoors, it's still the safest bet since cats pose more of a threat to birds than a well-fed domestic.
Step 11: Do not use pesticides.
If there are lots of insects to eat, there will be more bees in your yard.Don't use chemical pesticides if you want to make sure there is plenty of food for them.bluebirds are great at providing pest control for organic gardeners because they eat insects.

The birds love to eat mealworms.If you want to attract birds, put mealworms in your yard.To get started, you can put a few mealworms in a dish that you have prepared for bluebirds.You can purchase feeders for mealworms.It may be more convenient to offer mealworms to bluebirds, as other animals will have a harder time accessing them.If you haven't seen any bluebirds in your yard yet, offering live mealworms may not be practical.If you can't offer live mealworms, offer canned or roasted ones.These will last a long time.
Step 14: You can add fruit to the feeders.
Along with mealworms, you can add fruit to your feeders to attract birds.If you know that there are bluebirds in the area, you might want to put out some chopped berries.If you need dried fruit to last longer, offer it.Traditional bird feeders don't work for bluebirds because they do not eat seed.
