How To Be Close with Your Teen Child

Teenagers are difficult to deal with.Staying close to your teen child is your job as a parent.Some guidelines will be provided in this article.

Step 1: Keep your promises.

Make sure you keep your word when you promise something, for example to buy them something or take them somewhere.Don't make empty promises.Do it if you say you're going to do something.If you have a genuine reason for breaking a promise, be sure to explain it to your child.When they become an adult, they will copy your behavior as well.If you lie, your child will find it hard to trust you.

Step 2: It's a good idea to laugh a lot.

It helps to bond people with shared laughter and happiness.Try to have a good sense of humor.You should laugh together if you said something funny.Teens can appreciate their parents' sense of humor.They will call you cool and funny.

Step 3: Did you have a nice day today?

They come from school.Asking this question will let them know you care.You can find out what is wrong.It's possible that your child was bullied.If your 18 year old is still having trouble with people, be very worried.

Step 4: If you have an older teen with your own family, give them help with homework each day or evening.

Make sure your child knows that there is an open invitation to do things.They should ask you for help.

Step 5: A tradition is established with your teen daughter.

She should bake her favorite cookies every now and then.The purpose of this is to give girls experience baking, not crucial but fun.During one-on-one interaction with a parent, girls often open up.

Step 6: There is time to go to the big mall with your teen daughter.

Even if your teen drives a car, make a nice open conversation with your child in the car.An open conversation is stimulated by this activity.Some people think that it is a fact that you get the most information about your child's life when they are talking in a car.It's a good idea to eat lunch in the mall.You should buy clothes, shoes, accessories together so you can go home in a good mood.

Step 7: Try to understand why your child is upset on a particular day.

Step 8: When appropriate, share good and bad moments of the day with your teen.

It brings you two closer when they listen and sympathize.

Step 9: They need to build their confidence.

Positive reinforcement is needed.You did a good job, no matter how you accomplished it.If they needed your help, let them know that you are always there for them.Tell them how proud you are of them.

Step 10: Don't forget to say "I love you" to your teen on a regular basis.
