How To Be Friends with the Weird Kid

Do you think a kid at your school is weird?Do they look lost?In no time, you'll have a new friend and that kid won't seem weird anymore.

Step 1: Be friendly.

Let the kid know you're friendly. If there's a kid who isn't exactly the same as everyone else in school, they may be used to being treated unkindly by people.Let them know that you are not a bully or a mean person.

Step 2: Start a discussion.

Say something nice like, "Nice shirt" or "Cool shoes."You can start a conversation by saying "I noticed your bag".The other person will most likely say, "What did you notice about my?" if you say this instead of just giving a compliment. You can answer their question and keep the conversation going. The other person may reply "thanks" if you just say "Neat hat", which is not much of a conversation. It's nice to get a compliment, but if you only notice something you don't like, you can say it was worth it.Don't say how bad the item is, just say "I noticed it because I've never seen one like that before."When you're trying to make new friends, you don't need to share your opinions.

Step 3: If they need one, they should be their protectors.

Stand up for your new friend if they say something mean.Good friends do that for each other. No one should pick on anyone else just because they think they are weird. We are weird to people.Everyone is different from everyone else in how they look and what they think.Sometimes people are similar to each other and sometimes they are not. There's no such thing as normal or weird.150 people were all the same. It's really spooky!Stand up for everyone and accept differences in others.

Step 4: You should introduce your new friend to your friends.

When you do the introductions, tell them a little bit about your friends.Mention anything that your new friend has in common with your friends."X, this is Y, he's into soccer too, if the new kid has a Halloween Kitty Homework Binder."

Step 5: Ask your new friend what they like to do.

Don't try to pry.Don't ask about it immediately if you find it weird that someone wears dark glasses all the time. It's possible that your new friend is sensitive about eye problems.Ask about their family, what classes they like and what kind of music they listen to.Tell your friend something about yourself. You can still be friends even if you are completely opposites and don't like the same things. If you can't find something that you both like to talk about, then try bonding about something else that is silly or trivial, such as school meatloaf, math tests, or spiders!

Step 6: Listen to what they say.

Some people are shy and others have speech problems, so be patient and listen carefully. If people aren't very nice to this weird kid, they may not be very used to having friendly conversations.Your new friend should be reassured that you want to be friends and get along with them.

Step 7: Give them your phone number.

Tell them to call you. They may find it easier to talk when you're not face to face.

Step 8: Become friends with people on social media websites.

Step 9: Get to know the person a bit more.

You won't become friends after a quick chat in the lunch line if you talk a few times to get to know each other. They may become uncomfortable if you do so too fast.

Step 10: Ask them what to do.

Ask them to come over to your place.

Step 11: Become friends.

You should try to know that person. You will not remember why you thought they were weird.

Step 12: Understand your new friend's flaws.

Flaws can make a friendship weaker if you don't know them first. It doesn't have to be a bad thing if you have flaws.Be careful not to set them off if they have any.
