How To Become the school's head boy or girl.

Each year Head Boys and Head Girls are selected from the institution's highest class of students.Each academic institution has their own way of selecting a Head Boy and Head Girl.The Head Boy and Head Girl are expected to serve as role models to the students.The roles and responsibilities are accompanied by many opportunities for students.

Step 1: A teacher has nominated you.

If your institution requires a teacher to formally nominate you, you may be considered for the role.They may have to fill out a form or write a letter on your behalf.Students that are nominated by their teachers have the following qualities and skills.

Step 2: You should be nominated for the role.

You may be able to be nominated for the position of Head Boy or Head Girl.A letter of endorsement from a teacher is required for your nomination to be considered.Ask your teacher in advance of the application deadline if you want a letter of recommendation.Send a note to your teacher.

Step 3: Attach a letter of application.

Your school might require you to write a formal letter of application if you receive an endorsement from a teacher.Schools often give students detailed instructions on how to format a letter.They can also give you points of discussion.Explaining why you are a suitable candidate and detailing your plans to improve the school are some of the things that may be included in these.You should highlight your extracurricular activities, commitment to improving the school, leadership skills, and ability to manage a number of responsibilities at once.

Step 4: Receive a reply.

The selection committee will often narrow down the candidate pool after reviewing all of the applicants.You will be placed on a short list if you are chosen to move forward.The committee will let you know about the next stage.

Step 5: You can give a presentation to the selection committee.

The Head Boy and Head Girl are expected to speak.It is possible that you will be asked to showcase your public speaking ability to the selection committee or the student body.The committee should give you a prompt and a time limit for the speech.In front of a mirror, family member, or friend, practice giving a speech after writing it.Many students create presentations for their speeches.

Step 6: The selection committee and students can interview you.

The selection committee and a small number of students may interview you after your presentation.Speak to your ability as a candidate, provide examples of your commitment to the school, leadership abilities, and work ethic, if you are friends with a student that went through the interview process last year.

Step 7: You should be selected by the committee.

The selection committee will deliberate after interviewing all of the candidates.The entire decision may be based on the opinions of the selection committee.The Head Boy and Head Girl will be announced when they reach their final decision.

Step 8: You should be elected by the faculty and student body.

The final decision may not be made by the selection committee.A formal election may be held in which students and faculty are given one vote.The winners of the election will be announced once the votes are counted.British election practices are used in the election process.

Step 9: You can join the Head Boy and Head Girl's support team.

You may not be elected Head Boy or Head Girl at the end of the process.The students that are not selected are often asked to serve in other ways.You may be able to support the Head Boy and Head Girl on the school committee.
