You can learn how to block content on the internet.The Tumblr Savior browser extension can be used if you don't want to see certain types of content.You can blacklist specific tags so you can't see posts with them.If you want to blacklist specific users, you can do that as well.Either way, we've got you covered.To get started, check out the steps below.
Step 1: Understand how it works.
The add-on allows you to block words or phrases from appearing in your dashboard.You're less likely to see posts with a word in them if you blacklist it.It's important to keep in mind that when opening a new tab or page, it may take a few seconds to start, meaning that you may briefly see content that should be blacklisted.Some content will sometimes sneak through.There is only one Tumblr blacklist available as of March of this year.
Step 2: It's a good idea to open a supported browser.
You can install it on a variety of browsers.
Step 3: The Savior website is open.
In your browser, go to https://bjornstar.com/tumblr-savior.You will be taken to a page with download links for different browsers.
Step 4: Click the link to download.
You can find several links in the middle of the page if you click on one of them.You would click on the link if you wanted to download Tumblr Savior.
Step 5: You need to install the extension in your browser.
When prompted, this process will vary depending on the browser you're using.When the installation is complete, the browser will refresh the page.When prompted, click, then click again.You will be notified when the installation is complete.When prompted, click the download arrow in the top-right side of the browser, then double-click the setup file.
Step 6: You can click on the Savior extension.
It is similar to a black "T" on a white piece of paper.You can find it in either the upper-right side of the page or near the address bar.If you have more than one extension on Chrome, you may need to click to prompt a drop-down menu and then click the Tumblr Savior icon at the top.
Step 7: Blacklist specific tags.
On the "Black List" side of the window, type a tag you don't want to see into the text field.Click below the text field to create a new one.
Step 8: Click it to save.
It's at the bottom of the window.This will blacklist the specific tags that you entered.
Step 9: You can open it.
You can go to www.tumblr.com in your browser.If you're logging in, this will open your home page.If you don't have a password, you can enter your email address to log in.
Step 10: Take a moment to review your dashboard.
You shouldn't see posts with blacklisted tags on your dashboard.
Step 11: You can open it.
The app icon looks like a white "t" on a dark-blue background.If you're already a member of the site, this will open your dashboard.If you don't have a password, you can enter your email address.
Step 12: There is a magnifying glass icon.
There is an option in the left side of the screen.You can tap on the offending user's name if you scroll through your home page.skip the next step if you do this
Step 13: Search for the person you want to block.
When the name appears, type in the user's name and then tap it.This will lead you to their page.
Step 14: There is a tap.
There is a button in the top-right corner of the screen.There is a drop-down menu.
Step 15: There's a tap block.
It is in the menu.
Step 16: When prompted, tap Block.
The user won't be able to view or interact with you from their profile.
Step 17: Go to the website.
You can go totumblr.com in your browser.If you are logging in, this will open your dashboard.If you don't have a password, you can enter your email address to log in.
Step 18: The bar has a search function.
It's on the left side of the dashboard.You can click on the offending user's name if you scroll through your home page.skip the next step if you do this.
Step 19: Go to the profile you want to block.
Click on the profile that appears below the search bar if you type in the name.A preview of their profile can be seen from the left side of the page.Simply type in a name and press enter to view matching profiles.
Step 20: Click.
The pop-out window has a button in the top-right corner.
Step 21: Click on the block.
It is at the bottom of the menu.
Step 22: Click Block when prompted.
This user will not be able to view your profile or interact with you from their profile if you do this.
