How To Call Phones from Gmail

You can make calls to landline and mobile phones from Gmail.All you have to do is install the application that allows you to call and dial the number.

Step 1: You can open your Gmail account.

If you don't have one, make one.

Step 2: Go to "chat" on the left side of your screen.

There is a telephone icon that says "Call phone".There is a phone symbol next to the line.If you haven't already done so, you need to have installed and activated the voice and video plug-in.If you don't see this "call phone" line near chat, it may be because your Gmail account has not been enabled for this service.It will take at least several days to get all accounts activated.If you don't see the "call phone" line near the chat, it may be because your language setting is different from English.

Step 3: You can click on the "Call phone" tab.

A box will tell you about the service.The box tells you that US/Canada calls are free in 2010 and that emergency calls cannot be made via the internet.

Step 4: Once you have read the box, click "Accept".

You are acknowledging that you understand and agree to the terms of use.

Step 5: The call box is on the page.

You can enter either a phone number or the name of the person.The dial pad can be used to enter numbers or type in a name.If you make a mistake when entering a number on the dial pad, you can just use the keyboard's deletion button.

Step 6: The dial box has a blue "Call" button at the base.
