How To Change a Quip Battery

When you need new brush heads, you can get them in the mail.It is very easy to change a battery in a quip over time. There are a few simple fixes you can try if you replace the toothbrush battery. As good as new, your Quip will work when you finish.

Step 1: The brush head needs to be removed from the Quip.

The brush bristles should face away from you if you hold the quip in your hands. One of your hands should be holding the brush head while the other holds the handle.Pull the toothbrush apart and place your thumb on the back of it to access the battery. You could damage the toothbrush and make it unusable if you bend the brush head straight back.

Step 2: The motor and battery should be removed from the toothbrush.

After you remove the brush head, the motor is sticking out from the handle.Pull your thumbnail out from the handle by placing it in the small notch on the front of the motor. If you want the battery to come out, you have to flip the handle upside down. You can grab the plastic wings on the side of the motor if you can't get your thumbnail in the small notch.Since you could easily damage it, don't use other tools on it.

Step 3: The toothbrush has a negative end.

Hold the new battery upright so the negative side is facing down. The negative side is on the bottom and the positive side faces up if you put the new battery into the Quip. The battery should go into the handle if you tap the bottom of the Quip. When you get a replacement brush head, you can either use a standard battery from the store or the one that comes with it.If you use the battery frequently, it should last about 3 months.

Step 4: The motor should be put back in the brush.

The arrow next to the battery symbol should point down if you hold the motor.Push the motor down until it doesn't go any further. If the motor springs back up, it is okay.

Step 5: The brush head needs to be pushed back onto the toothbrush.

The Q symbol can be seen on the front of the toothbrush. When you hear the click, press the brush head into the handle. To turn on your quip, press the "Q" symbol and then test the new battery. If your brush head is over 3 months old, use a new one. It's better to keep your brush fresh. If your Quip doesn't work after you change the battery, you may need to take it apart again and look for problems.

Step 6: If the Quip doesn't turn on, try a different battery.

Remove the battery from your quip and take it apart.Set a different battery inside the handle if the first battery doesn't work. When you put the battery into the handle, make sure the negative side points down.If the Quip works, put it back together and turn it on again. If the TV remote battery doesn't work in a different electronic device, you can try testing it to see if it works there.

Step 7: There are no gaps if the base of the motor is pushed onto the body.

If there is a gap between the base on the bottom and the main body, you need to remove the motor.Push down on the body of the motor to close the seam if there is.Put the toothbrush in the motor and see if it works.Something else may be wrong with your toothbrush if the base and body of the motor have a tight seal.

Step 8: If you still don't know why it's not working, send pictures to the help site.

Take a picture of your Quip on a well-lit surface.Take a picture of the components together after you disassemble the toothbrush.Make sure you can clearly see the damage in the photo.Send the pictures along with your order number to the support site so they can see the problem and possibly send you a replacement. The email address for support is help@getquip.com.If you want to be covered by a warranty and get replacement parts, you must have an account with Quip.
