How To Change Application Permissions on a Mac

You can change what different apps can access on a Mac.

Step 1: Click on it.

The menu bar has an Apple logo at the top left corner.

Step 2: You can click System Preferences.

Step 3: You can click on the "Security & Privacy" icon.

The shape of the icon is similar to a house.

Step 4: You can click Privacy.

Step 5: There is a service in the left window.

The apps of that service's function can be seen in the window on the right.Maps uses location services in order to provide directions, so "Location Services" on the left might have "Maps" enabled.

Step 6: To add or remove permission, click on the check box next to the app.

There is permission to the service highlighted in the left pane of the window for apps marked with a blue check mark.You have none that perform the selected service's function if you don't see any apps here.Click on the padlock icon in the bottom corner of the window if the check boxes are greyed out.You need to type in your password.Click to open it.

Step 7: The button is red.

Changes will be made to your app permission.
