You can learn how to make a web browser other than the default one on a Mac computer.You can set any browser that's installed on your Mac to be the default browser.
Step 1: You can download your preferred browser.
If you don't already have the web browser that you want to use installed on your Mac, you'll need to download it first.Go to the download page and click the green button.Click the green button to go to Opera's download page.
Step 2: You need to install your browser.
Double-click the file to open it.Follow any on-screen instructions.The browser's icon can be dragged onto the folder shortcut.Click the DMG window to hold down Control.The menu has a drop-down.
Step 3: You can open the Apple menu.
The Apple logo can be found in the top left corner of the screen.A menu will appear.
Step 4: Click System Preferences
The drop-down menu has it near the top.The System Preferences window opens if you do that.
Step 5: Click general.
The System Preferences window has this option near it.You can change your browser here.
Step 6: Click on the box labeled "Default web browser".
It is in the middle of the page.Doing so leads to a menu.
Step 7: You can select a browser.
Click the browser you want to use in the drop-down menu.If the browser is up to date and installed on your computer, it should be an option here.If you don't see the browser you want to use, restart your Mac and open the System Preferences window again.
Step 8: Go to the System Preferences window.
Your settings will be saved, and any links or app extensions will open in your new browser.
