Step 1: There is an open control panel.
Click the Control Panel to open it if you type in the control panel while searching for your computer.
Step 2: You can change account type under user accounts.
Step 3: Click on the account you want to change.
Step 4: Click on the account name you want to change.
Step 5: You can type in the account name.
Click on the name you want to change.
Step 6: You have to sign out of your account.
You will see that your user account name has been changed.
Step 7: You can open settings.
Click the Windows icon on the left bottom to go to the settings.
Step 8: Click on the account you wish to view.
Step 9: You can click on your info in the left panel.
On the right panel, click on Manage my Microsoft account.
Step 10: In the browser, sign into your Microsoft account.
Click on More actions, and then select the profile you want to modify.If you log in with your Microsoft account for the first time, you will need to enter your account and password.
Step 11: Click on the name you want to change.
Step 12: You can type in your new user name.
Click to save.
Step 13: Go to the logon screen and restart your computer.
