You can learn how to change the name of an email that you send from Gmail.You can change your name on the desktop version of Gmail and the mobile app, but only three times per 90 days.You can't change your email address.
Step 1: Go to Gmail.
You can find it in your computer's web browser.If you're logging in, this will open your inbox.When prompted, enter your email address and password.
Step 2: You can click the gear-shaped icon.
It is on the right side of the inbox.A menu will appear.
Step 3: Click on the settings you want to modify.
This option can be found in the drop-down menu.The settings page opens when you do that.
Step 4: Click Accounts and Import.
There is a tab at the top of the page.
Step 5: You can click on the edit info.
It's next to the "Send mail as" section of the settings page.A menu will open.
Step 6: The blank text field has a box next to it.
The second box is from the top.
Step 7: You can type in your preferred name.
You can type the name you want in the blank text field.
Step 8: You can save changes.
There is a window at the bottom.It saves your name change and closes the window.
Step 9: You can open Gmail.
To do so, tap the Gmail app icon, which looks like a red "M" on a white background.When prompted, you will need to enter your email address and password.
Step 10: You can tap.
It is in the left-hand corner of the screen.A menu will appear.
Step 11: Go to the settings and scroll down.
The pop-out menu has this option near it.
Step 12: You can select your account.
You can change the name of the account by using the email address.
Step 13: You can manage your account by tapping it.
It is at the top of the menu.On the phone, tap.
Step 14: Personal info and privacy can be tapped.
You can find this option at the top of the page.At the top of the screen is where you want to tap.
Step 15: You can tap your current name.
There is a text box near the top of the page.
Step 16: You need to enter a password for your account.
Click if you want to type in the password for your email address.
Step 17: You can tap the "Edit" icon.
There is a pencil-shaped icon to the right of your name.A pop-up menu appears when you do so.
Step 18: Your new name will be entered.
The first and last text boxes are where you should type your name.
Step 19: Don't touch it.
There is a pop-up window.
Step 20: When prompted, tap Confirmation.
You can only change your name twice in the next 90 days, so this will confirm that you both want to do that.
