How To Clean Greens

"Greens" is a quick way of saying green vegetables.These are vegetables like lettuce and cabbage.These leaves can catch pesticides and other chemicals that you don't want in your body.Even if they're organic, there can be dirt and who knows what else from those who handled it.You need to clean them.The easiest way to clean greens is to put a lot of water in the sink.

Step 1: The sink needs to be thoroughly cleaned.

It doesn't have to be sterile, just washed down, so there are no food remnants or other contaminants.The bigger the sink, the better.

Step 2: Don't fill it with water just yet.

If you put the colander in the sink, you need to drain it and rinse it away.To remove excess water from greens, place the greens in the center of a large piece of cotton muslin.Take the corners and edges of the muslin and grasp them firmly.In a shower stall, swing your arm around in a circle.The water will leave this action.You can put the greens on a surface that is cool and dry while you prepare the rest of your meal.Muslin is less expensive and is easier to store than a salad spinner.The salad dressing is not affected by rinse water and leaves are less prone to rot when stored.

Step 9: If you have a lot of sandy greens, consider using a washing machine.

It's not practical for most situations.If your garden has a lot of dirt or sand on it, this is a good way to go.
