How To Clean Keds

If you wear keds for a long time, the canvas can become dirty and stained.Keds shouldn't be put in the washing machine, but they can be cleaned by hand.If you want to remove dirt, you can either use a baking soda paste or wash them with water and detergent.Both methods can be used for a deep clean if your Keds are dirty.Some special techniques can be used to get rid of stains.

Step 1: Remove laces and inserts.

If you want to clean your Keds, you need to remove the laces and inserts.The laces can be washed in a washing machine, hand in the sink or simply replaced.You should not put the inserts in until you are done.You may want to replace them if they are dirty or smelly.

If your Keds became wet and dried, they can develop mold.To get rid of mold, mix equal parts water and rubbing alcohol.Apply the solution to the problem with a rag or cotton towel.The shoes should be washed afterwards.

Step 13: To get rid of dirt and grass stains, scrub the soles.
