How To Configure uTorrent

Step 1: You can download and install uTorrent.

Step 2: Only useReputable sites to download.

Step 4: Make sure you have more seeds in your download.

Faster download speeds and complete recovery of the downloaded file can be achieved if more people support the download than download.

Step 5: During low activity hours you can download.

Try to download the file early in the morning to avoid bandwidth issues.

Step 6: You can use an Ethernet cable.

If your computer has an Ethernet port on it, you can use it to strengthen your connection to the internet.It will increase your download speed and internet security.There aren't any Ethernet slots on modern Macs.

Step 7: You can download one torrent at a time.

Unless you have to download multiple files at once, limit your download to one file at a time.

Step 8: It's possible to open uTorrent.

The uTorrent app icon looks like a white "" on a green background.

Step 9: Click on the option you want.

It's on the left side of the window.There is a drop-down menu.

Step 10: Click on the box that says Preferences.

The option is near the top of the menu.

Step 11: You can choose a language.

Click the "Language" drop-down box if you want to use a different language for uTorrent.

Step 12: Do you want to start with your computer or not?

The "Start Torrent with Windows starts" box should be checked if you don't want uTorrent to start.

Step 13: Make sure the updates are installed automatically.

If it isn't already checked, look at the "Automatically install updates" box.You can check the "Notify me before installing updates" box to make sure that uTorrent won't surprise you with an update in the middle of something important.

Step 14: It's a good idea to prevent sharing detailed information.

Don't check the "Send detailed info when checking for updates" box.You won't be able to share your personal uTorrent behavior with uTorrent.

Step 15: You can click on the Directories tab.

It is on the left side of the window.

Step 16: You can check the "move completed downloads to" box.

You can find it at the top of the window.

Step 17: You can click.

It is to the right of the "move completed downloads to" box.

Step 18: You can choose a folder.

If you want to use the finished files' storage location, click a folder.

Step 19: Click on the folder you want to select.

The window is in the bottom-right corner.You will be able to save your selected folder with this.

Step 20: You should repeat this process for each directory you want to use.

Click and select a folder if you check the box next to one of the options.

Step 21: You can click on the Connections tab.

There is a window on the left side.

Step 22: The "Incoming connections" port should be changed.

The upper-right side of the window has a text box.

Step 23: port mapping can be enabled.

If they aren't already checked, check the following boxes.

Step 24: Allow it to go through the firewall.

If it isn't already checked, check the "add Windows Firewall exception" box.

Step 25: You can click on the band width tab.

There is a window on the left side.

Step 26: The maximum number of connections needs to be increased.

To see the "Global maximum number of connections" heading, type 500 into the text box.

Step 27: The maximum number of connected peers should be increased.

To the right of the "Maximum number of connected peers per torrent" heading, type 500.

Step 28: You can check the "Apply rate limit to UTP connections" box.

There is a "Global Rate Limit Options" section on this page.

Step 29: The "Use additional upload slots..." box needs to be checked.

The option is at the bottom of the page.

Step 30: Click on the tab.

It is on the left side of the window.

Step 31: Limiting features should be disabled.

Uncheck the "Limit local peer bandwidth" and "Enable Altruistic Mode" boxes.

Step 32: On this page, check every other box.

skip this step if all of the other boxes are already checked.

Step 33: Click the box labeled "Outgoing".

It's below the heading.There is a drop-down menu.

Step 34: Click it to be forced.

It will increase your overall security if you force uTorrent to use Protocol Encryption all of the time.

Step 35: Click on the tab that says queueing.

There is a window on the left side.

Step 36: The maximum active torrents value is checked.

There is a box to the right of the "Maximum number of active torrents" heading.If there is a different number, type 8 into the box.

Step 37: The maximum active downloads value should be lowered.

By default, the number to the right of the "Maximum number of active downloads" heading is five, but you should remove this number and type 1 into the box.

Step 38: The minimum ratio is checked in the box.

If it says "200" here, replace the number with 200.

Step 39: To get to the left of Advanced, click +.

It's on the left side of the window.You should see new tabs.

Step 40: Click the disk cache to open it.

There is an option below the tab.

Step 41: The automatic cache size should be increased when the cache is thrashed.

This is at the bottom of the window.

Step 42: On this page, check every other box.

If the boxes are already checked, skip this step.

Step 43: The cache size should be changed.

In the text box to the right of the "Override automatic cache size and specify the size manually (MB)" heading, remove the number that's there and type in 1800.

Step 44: Click OK after applying.

The options are at the bottom of the window.All of your settings are saved and applied to uTorrent.It is now possible to download torrent files with optimal speed and security.Before the settings go into effect, you may have to close and re-open the uTorrent program.
