How To Create a Looped Updo

A looped updo can be used to create a professional look for a night out on the town.Updos are perfect for weddings and other fancy events. In order to create a looped updo, you will need to wash, blow dry, and iron your hair. You will need to put your hair in a ponytail. For a slightly more complex look, you can create one large loop, or a number of smaller more elegant loops.Have fun and experiment.

Step 1: It's time to blow dry.

You should wash and blow dry your hair before creating a looped updo. You will need to separate your hair if you have thick hair.Next, use a blowdryer to dry your hair.If you want to move the dryer back and forth, aim the nozzle towards the ends of your hair. The blow dryer should be a few inches away from your hair.

Step 2: Straighten

Smooth straight hair makes it easy to create a looped updo. After it has been dried, curly or coarse hair should be straightened with a flat iron. This will give your hair a smooth look.If you want to give your hair a smooth finish, use a round brush to dry it.

Step 3: You can apply a volumizing product to your hair.

If you want to add volume to your hair, you can use a volumizing powder, spray, or dry cleanser. The hair products can be purchased at the salon. If you want to give your hair more volume, place the powder or spray at the roots.Don't rinse your dry hair out, just spray it onto your roots and work it through.

Step 4: Part.

If your hair is parted, a looped updo is best.If you prefer, you can wear a center part or a part that is slightly off center. If you want to reveal a natural part, you can comb your hair back and then push it back.If you want to part your hair, use the end of a comb and run it along the part line. The hair should be moved to the right side of the part.

Step 5: You should put your hair in a ponytail.

A low ponytail is all you need to create a looped updo. The ponytail should be above your neck.If you want to avoid ruining your part, brush the hair down and around the sides.Use a hair elastic to hold the ponytail in place.Try to get a hair elastic that matches your hair color. If you have dark hair, use a black hair elastic, if you do not, you should use brown hair.If you have bangs, you may want to leave the bang out of your ponytail.

Step 6: You can create a loop by grabbing the end of your hair.

Once your hair is in a ponytail, comb back the tail to unite the hairs and then use a brush to smooth out the top surface. The end of your hair should be grabbed with your thumb and index finger.Make a loop on top of your head.If you want, you can braid the ponytail and make a loop. The length of your hair will affect the size of the loop.A larger loop can be created if you have long hair.

Step 7: Place the loop in place.

Depending on the thickness of your hair, pin the loop in place with two to three bobby pins. The base of the pony tail should be pinned to the loop.Use pins that match the color of your hair.Cross the pins if you want the best hold.

Step 8: The hair should be wrapped around the elastic.

Wrap the loose ends of the loop around the ponytail holder to keep it out of sight.Under the base of the ponytail, pin the end of your hair. You have a looped updo.

Step 9: Take your hair out and put it in a ponytail.

If you want a more complex looped updo, remove your part and brush your hair straight back into a ponytail. Before putting in hair elastic, smooth out any bumps. The ponytail should be between the crown of your head and the nape of the neck.

Step 10: Wrap your hair around your fingers.

Wrap a small section of the ponytail around two fingers once your hair is in a ponytail.Wrap the hair around all the way to the end with your fingers.A small loop will be created.

Step 11: Place the loop in place.

You can either position the loop horizontally or vertically. If you want to place the hair at the bottom of the loop, you have to Tuck the end of it.You might need to use more than one pin to hold the loop in place.

Step 12: While alternating the direction of each loop, repeat until all of your hair is looped.

Pin small loops of hair around your ponytail. If each loop faces a different direction than the one next to it, all the loops will merge together. They don't need to be symmetrical. It looks like a complicated looped bun if you layer the loops.Try to be patient as this look may take some time to master.Once your hair is pinned down, spray it with hair spray.
