How To Create a Pull Through Braided Ponytail

A pull through braid is similar to a regular braid in that it has mini ponytails slipped through one another. The easiest way to do this is to start with a ponytail. You could try a French-braid version if you feel like doing something more complex.

Step 1: Take your hair out and put it in a ponytail.

Mini twists or braids can be added to your hair. You should do this before you make the ponytail.A high ponytail looks best, but you can also do a low ponytail.

Step 2: The ponytail should be divided in half.

You can separate your thumb and rattail comb through your ponytail.Make sure the sections are even.

Step 3: There is a hair tie around the top section.

It needs to be less than 5 centimeters from the base of the ponytail.Use a small hair tie to cut down on bulk.

Step 4: There is a hole in the middle of the top section.

Use your fingers to make a hole in the hair. The same technique can be used to make a topsy-turvy ponytail.

Step 5: The bottom section should be pulled through the hole.

Attach your finger through the hole and around the bottom section. The bottom section has to be pulled through the hole. The new top section is located in the bottom section.

Step 6: The loops need to be tightened.

Pull the hair out of the bottom section in half. You will get a neater finish if you tighten the loops with this.Making the loops too tight can cause damage to your hair.

Step 7: Continue braiding your hair until you get the length you want.

2 inches (5 centimeters) down, tie another hair tie around the top section.Pull the bottom section out of the hole.If you want your braid to be longer, keep doing this.Don't forget to tighten the loops!

Step 8: The braid has to be tied off.

Take all of your hair and hold it in one hand. The hair should be tied with a hair tie.

Step 9: It's time to finish it off.

Your braid is done.To flatten the loops, you can gently tug them apart. You can add a bow to your hair.Start from the bottom and work your way up.

Step 10: Take a small section of hair from your forehead.

The section should be secured with a mini hair tie or clear elastic. You should have a ponytail that looks like the beginning of a French braid.

Step 11: Don't leave the ponytail in the way.

If you have long hair, twist the top section into a loose bun and clip it to the hea.

Step 12: Just below it is a second ponytail.

If you sweep your hair back from your temples, you can put it into a half up, half down ponytail.Just below the first ponytail, tie it off with a mini hair tie.

Step 13: Cut the first ponytail in half.

The left and right sections are what you will end up with.Don't do anything to the bottom ponytail just yet.

Step 14: Pull the bottom ponytail out of the way.

You should pull it between the left and right sections.Take it out of the way of your head. The left and right sections should not be clipped.

Step 15: Add some hair by pulling the left and right sections into a ponytail.

The left and right sections need to go.Just above your ears, use your thumbs to sweep hair back from your head.Take the hair, along with the two sections, into a ponytail, and tie it off with a mini hair tie.

Step 16: Cut the top ponytail in half.

Pull the ponytail out of the way.The bottom sections should be put into a ponytail.Put it in a ponytail.Continue until you get to the nape.

Step 17: Attach the test of your hair to a ponytail.

Try a mini or clear hair tie.If you have thick hair, use a hair tie that matches your hair color. At this point, you can either stop or continue braiding your hair.

Step 18: Your hair should be split in half.

To divide your hair in two, push your thumb through it.The top and bottom sections are what you will end up with.

Step 19: There is a mini hair tie around the top section.

You want it to be close to the base of the ponytail.Don't do anything to the bottom section yet.

Step 20: The bottom section has to be pulled through the middle of the top section.

Right above the hair tie, make a hole in the top section.Pull your finger through the hole and hook it around the bottom section. The top is now the bottom section. It is similar to making a topsy-turvy ponytail.

Step 21: Continue braiding your hair, then tie it off with a hair tie.

2 inches (5 centimeters) down, Wrap another hair tie around the top sections.Pull the bottom section out of the hole.Continue until you run out of hair, then tie it off with a hair tie.

Step 22: Let it go.

Use your fingers to pull the braid out. This can be done for the bottom braid or the French braid. This will help hide the hair ties. You can add a bow or accessory to your hair.

Step 23: Finished.
