It's easy to make a sound recording in Windows 8.The sound recording application can be used to record sound.These methods can also be followed by Windows 8.1 users.
Step 1: The "Start" button should be pressed.
The task bar is located on the bottom left corner of the screen.It can be found on the left-hand side of your keyboard.It appears to be a white window.If your device has a touchscreen, position your finger on the far right side of the screen.You can click on the "Start" icon.It looks like a blue window and is in the middle of the list.The word "Start" is beneath it.
Step 2: Search for the sound recorder.
You can type the words.There is a list of applications and programs that match the query.Right-clicking on a blank area on your screen and selecting "All Apps" will bring you to the Sound Recorder.If you use Windows 8.1, you can click on the icon that looks like an arrow inside a circle to move your pointer towards the bottom of the screen."Sound recorder" can be found at the end of the list.
Step 3: You can choose the application you want to use.

Step 4: The Sound recorder icon is orange.
This will lead to an application.It looks like a solid-colored screen with a circle in the middle.There is a picture of a microphone inside the circle.There is a bunch of 0's under the circle.
Step 5: If needed, allow microphone access.
If you are using the app for the first time, you may be asked for permission to use your mic.Click "yes" or "okay."If you see a notice that the app doesn't have access to your mic, you will need to change it.Go to the menu and select "settings" from the left side of the screen."Permissions" can be found from the side menu.The bar should turn blue if the microphone option is turned on.
Step 6: To begin recording, tap the circle.
You can start making noise for the recording by singing, playing music, or talking.
Step 7: The recording needs to be paused.
Click the button again if you want to continue the recording.
Step 8: To save the recording, click "Stop"
You can see a list of your other recordings if you have made recordings before.The recordings made in this app are saved in the app.You will lose those recordings if you get rid of the app.
Step 9: The Sound Recorder Icon is grey.
This will bring you back to your screen.There is a small pop-up on your screen with a red dot and a green bar.
Step 10: To start recording, click on the red dot.
As you begin recording, you may see the colors change from green to yellow and red.The volume is indicated by these.Your recording might be too loud and you should speak softer.You are speaking too loudly if you are wearing red.You should stay in the green or yellow area.It's possible that recordings are too loud.
Step 11: When you are done, click "Stop Recording"
You have a chance to save the recording if you stop it.
Step 12: The file should be saved.
When you hit "Stop Recording", you will get a pop-up asking you to save the file to a location.You will be able to name the recording.Pick the folder in which you want your file to be saved.Click to save.
