How To Create an Environment Variable in Windows 10

New environment variables can be added in Windows 10.Environment variables can be used to specify internal paths in the OS.It is stored in a name and value pair.There are a lot of environment variables in the OS.To find out how to add environment variables in Windows 10, stick to this article.

Step 1: The "This PC" icon can be found on your system.

You can find it on your screen.You can go to your computer by pressing a key.

Step 2: Click on the "This PC" icon.

There is a small popup with few options.

Step 3: Click on the option that says "Properties".

This can be found in the last position below the "Rename" option.The new window will open with all the details of the system.

Step 4: Click on "advanced system settings".

This option can be found on the left-hand side of the window.The "System Protection" option is below this option.

Step 5: Click on the variable.

There is a new window dialog called "Environment Variables".

Step 6: Determine which variable to add.

In the User/System section, click the New option.

Step 7: Click OK to add the variable name and variable value.

In variable_name, you can give a name to your user variable and specify a path to save the changes.

Step 8: You can view the environment variables.

You can see the entry of variables after you save a new variable.

Step 9: Click OK if you don't want to.

After clicking OK, you will be able to create a new User variable.
