How To Cut a Layered Bob

Adding layers to your hair will give it more volume and make it look more stylish.Start cutting the hair in sections. It's important that you have a reference point when creating the rest of the cut, as well as the layers.Make the cuts at an angle to form layers and comb out each section of hair before cutting it.

Step 1: It is easier to cut hair that is damp.

It is a good idea to spray the hair with a spray bottle. If you don't have a spray bottle, you can wet your hair and brush through it.If you have to wet it several times, use a hair brush. If the hair is wet, wipe it with a towel. You can cut your hair while it's wet.

Step 2: The hair should be combed through to remove tangles.

Use a fine-toothed comb to comb the entire head.Once the comb runs through the hair, work through any tangles.

Step 3: Do you normally part your hair?

Ensuring that you get an accurate cut that works with how you wear your hair is important. If you're doing your hair with a comb or hair brush, part it on the left, right, or middle.

Step 4: The hair should be separated into 3 parts.

Divide your hair by using the end of a rat-tail comb. The far left section is created by running the end of the comb vertically down your head.Run the end of the comb vertically down the head to divide the hair into two parts. The left side, back side and right side are created. The left or right side will have more hair if the hair is parted on one side. Each section of hair should be kept in place with hair clips.

Step 5: The back part of the hair is in the middle.

Use the tip of a fine tooth comb to create a line in the back of the hair. The line should be distinguishable by combing the hair on the left and right of the line.Pull the sections to the back of the shoulders if the hair is long enough. The purpose of this line is to create a triangle section of hair.

Step 6: There is a triangle-shaped section of hair at your neckline.

The tooth comb can be used to separate hair at the base of the neckline in the shape of a triangle. The other sections should be pulled to the side.As if the triangle was sitting on the ground, orient it with a point facing upwards. The base of your neck should be at the bottom of the triangle. The guiding hair cut length for the rest of the head will be found in the triangle section.

Step 7: The first horizontal cut should be at least 1 in.

Decide where you're going to cut the length by paying attention to where the hair roots are.To make a horizontal cut, use hair-cutting shears or sharp scissors, and make sure you have gathered all the strands of hair.Cut a clean line across the entire triangle section. If you want your hair to be shorter than your neck, don't cut it.The triangle section is only being cut at this point. If you want to see the hair you have already cut that is in a straight line, use the fine tooth comb to cut in small sections.

Step 8: Cut the entire back section using the already-cut hair as a guide.

You can get sections of hair from the back by using a comb.Hold the hair in between your fingers and pull it away from the head. The cut hair can be used to cut the new hair along the same line.Hold the hair 4–5 inches away from the head so that you can cut it with hair-cutting shears. The layers are created when you hold the hair out like this.Only the back section of the hair is being cut, the left and right sections are not.

Step 9: There is a section of hair on the left side of the head.

To get rid of tangles on the left side, use a fine tooth comb to remove the entire side. The upper section needs to be clipped up so it's out of the way.To separate the bottom section of hair, use your comb to draw a horizontal line.

Step 10: To make a horizontal line with cut hair, clip the bottom section.

The back section of hair is a good place to start cutting the left side of the hair. You will have created a straight line when you finish cutting the bottom section.

Step 11: Cut 1 in sections of hair at an angle.

Pull the smaller sections of hair out of the top section, holding them between your fingers as you cut the hair.Continue until you cut the entire left section of hair. The left side of hair has already been cut.

Step 12: You can separate the bottom portion from the right side of hair.

If you want to see the difference in length, take down the last section of hair and comb it thoroughly.Pull the right side's upper section out so that the bottom half of the hair can be cut.

Step 13: To make it even with the rest of the cut, cut the right bottom portion.

With the left and back portions of the hair already cut, use the shears or scissors to cut across the right side.As you make horizontal cuts, use your fingers to hold the hair straight.

Step 14: Cut 1 in sections of the right side at an angle.

Just as you did with the other sections, unclip the upper section and remove small sections of hair at a time, combing them out and cutting them in line with already-cut hair.Continue pulling the hair as you cut it.While using the old sections as a guide, cut the new sections first.

Step 15: If you want to add sharper layers, hold the hair between your fingers.

Pull out a section of hair with a fine tooth comb and place it between your fingers. This will help guide your cut.If you want to avoid creating a lot of layers, you should cut your hair on the thinner side.

Step 16: The ends of the hair should be cut at an angle.

To create layers, hold the scissors vertically away from the head and comb out sections of hair.Continue with other sections of hair, taking off only the ends.Cut at an angle of 70 degrees.

Step 17: Cut with the scissors vertically.

To make the haircut look less rigid, make small cuts at the ends with the hair-cutting shears. This will make the haircut look natural. The tips of the hair should not be seen.

Step 18: Once the cut is done, dry and style your hair.

You can either let your hair dry naturally or use a hair dryer and brush to dry and style it.If you're using a hair dryer, the bottom layer of your hair should be dry first, followed by the top layer for a full look.If you hold the hair dryer in one hand and the brush in the other, you can get a straight strand of hair.
