How To Delete a Boot Camp Partition from Your Mac

Windows can be run on your Mac with the help of Boot Camp.As technology progresses, it is becoming more and more likely that you can just do everything on the Mac side, rendering Boot Camp obsolete.Deleting the Boot Camp software can help your computer run better and faster by freeing up valuable space on your hard drive.

Step 1: You need to back up your machine.

If something goes wrong, it is important to back up everything on your Mac.If you want to save the Windows data manually, the backup procedure will be even more extensive.Time Machine does not automatically back up the Windows partition.

Step 2: All other users need to log out.

You should only log in with your administrator account.

Step 3: Don't use all open apps.

If the light is on next to or below an icon in your dock, it's still running.The Finder is the only thing left to quit.You can force it to quit if it doesn't respond.

Step 4: The boot camp assistant should be launched.

Step 5: Click on Continue.

Step 6: Click on it to uninstall Windows.

Depending on the version of Windows you installed, the mentioned Windows version can differ.Click on Continue.

Step 7: Select to restore.

If your Mac has more than one disk, you may have to select one.You can choose the one with Windows.

Step 8: Click OK if you want to type an Administrator's name and password.

Step 9: Wait for the software to be updated.
