How To Delete an Oovoo Account

The mobile and desktop app will show you how to uninstall your ooVoo account.If you want to close your ooVoo account, you can remove your personal information from your profile.You may not be able to log into your account after November 25th, when ooVoo announced it was shutting down.

Step 1: You can open ooVoo.

The app icon looks like two white chains in the shape of a "v" on a light orange background that you can find on one of your Home screens, or by searching.If prompted, log in.

Step 2: You can tap.

The three-line menu icon is in the top left corner of the screen.

Step 3: There is a tap.

The pencil icon is in the top right corner of the menu.

Step 4: "Closed" is entered in the "Display Name" field.

The keyboard can be enabled by tapping in the text field.

Step 5: You can change the picture with a tap.

Under the "Display Name" field, you'll see this.Set your picture to be generic.You could use a generic silhouette.

Step 6: There is a tap.

This will save your changes.

Step 7: Again, tap.

You can skip this step if the menu didn't close when you tapped it.

Step 8: You can tap on the settings.

There is a gear icon at the bottom of the menu.

Step 9: Privacy and security can be tapped.

This is the second option in the menu.

Step 10: Under "When people search in ooVoo, who can find me?", tap to select "No one".

The circle next to "No one" has an orange check mark to indicate that it has been selected.

Step 11: You have to uninstall the app.

If you don't know how to do this, you can look at How to uninstall apps.When the icon slides up, tap and hold it.If you want to see the icon in the top left corner of the app thumbnail, tap and hold it until you start wiggling.You have set the profile back to a default one, so you don't have to be tied to the account anymore.

Step 12: You can launch ooVoo.

You can find it in your Start Menu or Applications folder.If you are prompted, log in.

Step 13: You can click on the ooVoo tab.

There is a horizontal menu near the top of the application window.

Step 14: You can hover over my profile.

The menu should be expanded to the right.

Step 15: Click to make changes to my profile.

A new window opens.

Step 16: You can type "Closed" in the "Display Name" field.

The keyboard can be activated by clicking inside the text field.

Step 17: Click the picture you want to change.

Under the "Display Name" field is where you'll see this.Your profile picture should be generic.You could use a generic silhouette like the sky.

Step 18: Click to save.

This can be seen in the bottom right corner of the window.

Step 19: Click the ooVoo tab again.

There is a horizontal menu near the top of the application window.

Step 20: Click on settings.

There is a grey gear icon at the bottom of the menu.

Step 21: Click Privacy.

The second yellow grouping of menu options is what this is.

Step 22: Under the "Connecting on ooVo" section, click to select " Nobody may find or view myooVoo profile."

The first setting on the page is this.

Step 23: You can change the settings to "No one" for the other questions.

You can change the settings for "Sharing on ooVoo" and "No one" at the same time.

Step 24: Click it to save.

The window is in the bottom right corner.

Step 25: Click the ooVoo tab again.

There is a horizontal menu near the top of the application window.

Step 26: Click on settings.

There is a grey gear icon next to this at the bottom of the menu.

Step 27: Click to get notifications.

This is the fourth yellow grouping of menu options.

Step 28: Click every box to remove them.

All notifications should be disabled so you don't get emails from ooVoo.The notification is still active if you check the box.

Step 29: Click to save.

This is in the bottom right corner of the window.

Step 30: You should uninstall ooVoo from your computer.
