How To Disable Apps on an Android Device

Most of the pre-installed apps can be disabled, but some can only be uninstall.There are apps that can't be removed using the app drawer and the settings on the phone.

Step 1: Open the settings.

You can either open the quick menu panel, which has a gear icon that will launch settings, or you can find the settings icon on one of your Home screens, in the app drawer or by searching.

Step 2: There are apps that you can tap.

This can be found in the middle of the menu, sometimes in a group with "Digital Wellbeing and parental controls" or "Device Care."

Step 3: You can turn off the app you want.

You can turn off that by using the app on your phone.

Step 4: Tap to stop.

You can see the button at the bottom of your screen or below the app's name.You can confirm your action with a tap.All the data will be deleted if you replace the app's information with the factory version.You can still turn off the app.You'll need to uninstall the app if you don't see it.Only apps that came with the phone can be disabled.

Step 5: You can access the drawer by sliding up.

An icon in the bottom row of apps can be used to open the app drawer.

Step 6: Press and hold on to the icon.

When you release the icon, a menu will pop-up.

Step 7: Tap to stop.

The app will be disabled, but you may need to continue if the app has certain privileges.You will need to decide if you want to set the app back to factory settings or not.
